CineSignal Terms of Service

Welcome to CineSignal.
We’re building this platform to help creative professionals share their work, connect with others, and experiment with new tools. These Terms are written to be clear, respectful, and fair to both you (our users) and us (the creators of CineSignal).

By creating an account or using CineSignal, you agree to these Terms.

1. Your Account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use CineSignal.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Please don’t share your password.
  • Accounts are invite-only right now. Don’t sell, trade, or abuse invitations.

2. Your Content

  • You own everything you upload to CineSignal (screenplays, reels, profiles, etc.).
  • By uploading, you give CineSignal permission to display your content within the platform so that features like profiles, reels, and ReadAlongs can work.
  • You are responsible for making sure you have the rights to share what you upload.
  • Don’t upload anything unlawful, abusive, or harmful.

3. AI Features and Services

Some CineSignal features use third-party AI services to work (for example, ElevenLabs for screenplay readings and ChatGPT on Replicate for resume parsing).

  • By using these features, you agree that the necessary parts of your data (e.g., screenplay text for readings) may be shared with these services for processing.
  • We only send the data needed for the task, and we choose providers we believe handle data responsibly.
  • As CineSignal grows, more AI services may be added, and we’ll update these Terms accordingly.
  • You always control whether to use AI-powered features.

4. Credits and Payments

  • Certain features use credits. Credits are non-refundable and have no cash value.
  • We may offer credits for purchase, or provide them to you for free during testing.
  • Please don’t try to hack or manipulate the credit system.

5. Respectful Use

  • Be kind. CineSignal is built for creative collaboration, not harassment or abuse.
  • Don’t use CineSignal to spread spam, malware, or misinformation.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts that break these rules.

6. Our Responsibilities

  • We will do our best to keep CineSignal reliable and secure.
  • CineSignal is offered “as is” without guarantees. There may be bugs, downtime, or changes.
  • We may update or remove features as we grow.

7. Limitation of Liability

  • CineSignal and its creators are not responsible for damages caused by using (or not being able to use) the platform.
  • If you are unhappy with CineSignal, your best remedy is to stop using it.

8. Changes to These Terms

  • We may update these Terms occasionally. If changes are major, we’ll do our best to let you know.
  • Continuing to use CineSignal after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

CineSignal Privacy Policy

We only collect information needed to run CineSignal:

  • Account info: your email address, password, and profile details.
  • Content: anything you upload (screenplays, reels, resumes, etc.).
  • Usage data: basic analytics like page views, errors, and feature usage.
  • Payments: if you buy credits, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We don’t store your credit card information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide CineSignal’s features (profiles, uploads, credits, etc.).
  • Keep the platform secure and prevent abuse.
  • Improve CineSignal by understanding how it’s used.
  • Communicate with you about your account, features, or important updates.

3. AI & Third-Party Services

Some CineSignal features use trusted third-party AI services.
When you use these features, your data may be shared with them for processing:

  • Screenplay Reading: Sent to ElevenLabs to generate high-quality voice readings.
  • Resume Parsing: Sent to ChatGPT (via Replicate) to help extract and format resume information.

We only send the data needed for the specific task (e.g., the screenplay text for reading).
We choose providers we believe handle data responsibly, but their use is subject to their own policies.
As CineSignal grows, we may add new AI integrations. We’ll update this policy and clearly explain how your data is used whenever new services are added.

You always control whether to use these features — using them means you consent to the necessary data being shared with those services.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell or rent your personal data.
We only share information when:

  • It’s required to provide services (e.g., Stripe for payments, Supabase for hosting, AI services as listed above).
  • We are legally required to do so (e.g., a valid court order).
  • It’s needed to protect CineSignal, our users, or the public from harm.

5. Your Rights

  • You can update or delete your account information at any time.
  • You can request deletion of your account and data by emailing us at [email protected].
  • You can opt out of non-essential communications (like newsletters, if we send them).

6. Data Security

  • We take reasonable steps to protect your data, but no online service is 100% secure.
  • Please help by keeping your account credentials safe.

7. Data Retention

  • We keep your account and uploads for as long as you use CineSignal.
  • If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data, except where legally required to keep it.

8. Children’s Privacy

  • CineSignal is not intended for children under 18.
  • We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If changes are significant, we’ll do our best to notify you.
Continuing to use CineSignal means you accept the updated policy.
