CineSignal Terms of Service

Welcome to CineSignal.
We’re building this platform to help creative professionals share their work, connect with others, and experiment with new tools. These Terms are written to be clear, respectful, and fair to both you (our users) and us (the creators of CineSignal).

By creating an account or using CineSignal, you agree to these Terms.

1. Your Account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use CineSignal.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Please don’t share your password.
  • Accounts are invite-only right now. Don’t sell, trade, or abuse invitations.

2. Your Content

  • You own everything you upload to CineSignal (screenplays, reels, profiles, etc.).
  • By uploading, you give CineSignal permission to display your content within the platform so that features like profiles, reels, and ReadAlongs can work.
  • You are responsible for making sure you have the rights to share what you upload.
  • Don’t upload anything unlawful, abusive, or harmful.
  • If you choose to make content public, other users (and AI features you invoke) may view or process that content as described below.

3. AI Features and Services

Some CineSignal features use third-party AI services (e.g., ElevenLabs for screenplay readings, Replicate hosted models for analysis and generation, and other providers we may add).

  • By using an AI feature, you agree that the minimum necessary portions of your data (e.g., screenplay text, selected reel frames, resume text) may be sent to the relevant provider solely to perform that feature.
  • We only send what is required for the requested operation.
  • Providers are subject to their own terms/privacy; we choose services we believe handle data responsibly but cannot guarantee their systems.
  • You always choose whether to invoke AI features; if you do not use them, your relevant data for those features is not sent.

3.1 Screenplay Enhancement (Covers, Loglines, Descriptions)

If a screenplay you upload lacks a cover image, description, or logline — or you explicitly request generation — we may send the screenplay text (or excerpts) to an AI model (currently via Replicate) to:

  • Generate a suggested cover image (prompt derived from your text).
  • Produce or refine a description and/or logline.

Generated assets are suggestions. You can accept, edit, or discard them.

3.2 Reel Frame Selection

If a reel lacks a cover image — or you explicitly request assistance — we may send sampled frames (thumbnails, not full‑resolution video) to an AI model to pick a representative frame for use as a cover suggestion. You may accept or replace this at any time.

3.3 Limits & Feedback

We may store generated suggestions (cover prompts, chosen frames, loglines) to improve reliability, detect abuse, and let you re-use them. We do not use your private, non-public content to train proprietary models beyond what is necessary for the immediate feature, unless you separately opt in to broader improvement programs (if offered in the future).

3.4 Errors & Safety

AI outputs can be inaccurate or inappropriate. You are responsible for reviewing generated material before publishing it.

4. Credits and Payments

  • Certain features use credits. Credits are non-refundable and have no cash value.
  • We may offer credits for purchase, or provide them to you for free during testing.
  • Please don’t try to hack or manipulate the credit system.

5. Respectful Use

  • Be kind. CineSignal is built for creative collaboration, not harassment or abuse.
  • Don’t use CineSignal to spread spam, malware, or misinformation.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts that break these rules.

6. Our Responsibilities

  • We will do our best to keep CineSignal reliable and secure.
  • CineSignal is offered “as is” without guarantees. There may be bugs, downtime, or changes.
  • We may update or remove features as we grow.

7. Limitation of Liability

  • CineSignal and its creators are not responsible for damages caused by using (or not being able to use) the platform.
  • If you are unhappy with CineSignal, your best remedy is to stop using it.

8. Optional Promotional Use (Opt-In)

If you enable the explicit profile setting (checkbox) allowing promotional generation:

  • You grant CineSignal a non-exclusive, revocable license to generate promotional materials (e.g., composite images, taglines, highlight cards, short social snippets) derived from your publicly available content on the platform (public reels, public screenplay metadata, profile fields).
  • These generated promotions may be used to: (a) showcase you and your creative abilities, (b) recommend your work to other users, and (c) promote CineSignal externally (e.g., social channels, marketing pages).
  • We will not expose private or unpublished content, nor full screenplay text, in promotional materials without separate permission.
  • You can withdraw this permission at any time via the same setting; future new promotions will stop, but already published materials may continue to exist in historical archives or social posts.
  • Opting out does not affect your core use of the platform.

If you do not check/enable this setting, we will not use your content for outward promotional generation beyond normal in-product discovery features.

9. Changes to These Terms

  • We may update these Terms occasionally. If changes are major, we’ll do our best to let you know.
  • Continuing to use CineSignal after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

CineSignal Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy and want to be clear about how CineSignal handles your information.
This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.

By using CineSignal, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect information needed to run CineSignal:

  • Account info: your email address, password, and profile details.
  • Content: anything you upload (screenplays, reels, resumes, etc.).
  • Derived & Generated Data: AI-generated suggestions (e.g., cover image prompts, selected reel frames, loglines, descriptions) produced when you invoke related features.
  • Usage data: basic analytics like page views, errors, and feature usage.
  • Payments: if you buy credits, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We don’t store your credit card information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide CineSignal’s features (profiles, uploads, credits, etc.).
  • Generate optional AI suggestions you explicitly request (screenplay covers, loglines, descriptions; reel cover frame selection).
  • Keep the platform secure and prevent abuse.
  • Improve CineSignal by understanding how it’s used.
  • Communicate with you about your account, features, or important updates.

3. AI & Third-Party Services

Some CineSignal features use trusted third-party AI services. When you invoke these features, the necessary data is shared for processing:

  • Screenplay Reading: Sent to ElevenLabs to generate voice readings.
  • Resume Parsing: Sent to ChatGPT (via Replicate) to help extract and format resume information.
  • Screenplay Cover / Logline / Description Generation: Screenplay text (or excerpts) may be sent to a model (currently via Replicate) to produce suggested cover image prompts, descriptions, or loglines when you request them or when a screenplay is missing those fields and you opt to generate them.
  • Reel Cover Frame Selection: Sampled frames (thumbnails, not full‑resolution video) may be sent to an AI model to select a representative cover frame when you request assistance or no cover exists.

We only send the minimum required data for the specific task. Providers are subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We choose services we believe act responsibly, but we cannot guarantee their systems.

You always control whether to use these AI features. If you don’t invoke them, your underlying content is not sent for those purposes.

We may retain generated suggestions (e.g., prompts, chosen frames, loglines) to allow re-use, auditing, abuse prevention, and quality improvement. We do not use your private, non-public content to train proprietary models beyond immediate feature fulfillment unless you separately opt in to a broader improvement program (if offered).

4. Optional Promotional Generation (Opt-In)

If you enable the promotional generation checkbox in your profile settings, you permit us to generate marketing or discovery-oriented materials (e.g., composite visuals, short taglines, highlight cards, social snippets) using your publicly available content (public reels, public screenplay metadata, public profile fields). We will not include private or unpublished screenplay text or unreleased media in outward-facing promotions without separate consent.

Uses include:

  • Showcasing you and your creative abilities.
  • Recommending your work to other users.
  • Promoting CineSignal externally (e.g., social channels, marketing pages).

You can withdraw this permission at any time; we’ll stop generating new promotional materials. Already published items may persist in historical archives or previously shared posts.

If you do not opt in, your content will not be used for external promotional generation beyond standard in-product discovery surfaces.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We only share information when:

  • It’s required to provide services (e.g., Stripe for payments, Supabase for hosting, AI services as listed above).
  • We are legally required to do so (e.g., a valid court order).
  • It’s needed to protect CineSignal, our users, or the public from harm.

6. Your Rights

  • You can update or delete your account information at any time.
  • You can request deletion of your account and data by emailing us at [email protected].
  • You can opt out of non-essential communications (like newsletters, if we send them).

7. Data Security

  • We take reasonable steps to protect your data, but no online service is 100% secure.
  • Please help by keeping your account credentials safe.

8. Data Retention

  • We keep your account and uploads for as long as you use CineSignal.
  • If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data, except where legally required to keep it.

9. Children’s Privacy

  • CineSignal is not intended for children under 18.
  • We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are significant, we’ll do our best to notify you. Continuing to use CineSignal means you accept the updated policy.
